Friends of Eugene Public  Library

 It’s October. . . .

Time for our Annual Membership Campaign

Each  October brings our annual membership campaign; we are kicking off our 2016/17 FEPL Membership Drive just in time for 2016 National Friends of Libraries Week, (OCT 16-22).  Be watching your mailbox or pick up a New/Renewal membership brochure at Second Hand Prose Book Store, any EPL branch or go to  to join online.  With the help of your membership dollars, the Friends again raised $100,000 in fiscal year 2015-2016 to pay for Library programs and special activities that strengthen our community.  Over 48,000 people benefitted by attending more than 1,400 free workshops and events like the following:

  • Children’s Storytime: Thirteen different sessions are offered throughout the week to spark the love of reading in young children, including story times in Spanish and sessions for kids with special/ sensory needs
  • Teen Events: Monthly meetings of the Teen Book Group and the Dr. Who Club
  • Summer Reading Program: Over 7,000 young children and teens received a free book to keep the love of reading alive throughout the summer months
  • Technology Workshops: Classes to foster electronic and digital literacy for adults and help them make better use of the Internet and devices of all types
  • Speaker programs: Talks for adults by authors, artists, professors and other experts
  • Job Search Help: Workshops to improve resumes, strengthen job skills, and maximize job searches with modern technology
  • Business Development: Sessions to strengthen entrepreneurial and networking skills for those seeking to start or expand local business ventures

Help us keep the funding alive to continue these special programs at the Library! Be as generous as your budget allows. We have changed our membership categories this year so we, also, ask your help to spread the word to other individuals and companies who care about literacy and our community -- invite them to become members of the Friends. Contact us at   or call (541)-484-1452; we’ll gladly send them a flyer to #helpushelpEPL   Thank you!
